Norkirk Neighborhood Board Positions

There are many ways to participate in our neighborhood association and we welcome new board members. Some roles on the board are short-term while others are on-going and some projects are more or less time-consuming than others, so if you're interested in participating, please contact us and we'll find the right fit for you.


CHAIR

*Conducts Neighborhood Meetings most even months.

*Recruits for Special Projects and other Board positions.

*Sets the agenda for upcoming meetings.

*Apply for City Matching Grants every two-year cycle.


VICE / CO-CHAIR

*Maintains community website

*Monitors community email account & sends email to those signed up to receive.

*Posts updates on Nextdoor.com

*Assists in setting the agenda for upcoming meetings


SECRETARY

*Keeps and posts minutes for all meetings.


TREASURER

*Maintains the NNA bank account and bookkeeping.

*File State and Federal annual tax-exempt status.


KAN REPRESENTATIVE

*Represent the NNA at the Kirkland Alliance of Neighborhoods meetings.

*Stay informed about what is going on in the City that would be important to NNA members


BOARD MEMBERS AT LARGE

*Participates in Norkirk community and board meetings and can serve as a special project coordinator.


SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATORS

*NSP PROJECT COORDINATOR: Coordinates the process for determining and submitting a project for the City's Neighborhood Safety Program and advocates for that project during the City's review process.

*Annual Summer Picnic with the Highlands Neighborhood

*All-Neighborhood Garage Sale (traditionally the last Saturday in April)

*Adopt a Trail (commitment to maintain a segment of the Cross Kirkland Corridor)

*"For the Love of Kirkland" Inspired Projects (i.e. Crossing Kirkland event)

*Norkirk Action Teams (advocate for or against specific issues affecting the neighborhood)
