Traffic Circle Update
Norkirk resident Jason Anderson, our

and his neighbors are interested in finding additional ways of
installing street/sidewalk improvements to increase both the safety and
beauty of Norkirk. They also encourage the City Council to proceed
with Phase 2 of the Norkirk Traffic Calming plan.

As a side note, volunteers are needed
to be Resident Advisors to the Lodging Tax Advisory Council If
you are interested, please contact Janice Soloff at jsoloff@ci.kirkalnd.wa.us.

Innovative Housing Discussion with
Jim Lauinger
Councilman Jim Lauinger led
discussion on the innovative housing discussion, which then led into a
continued, spirited debate on the effectiveness of the traffic calming
in Norkirk. An impromptu discussion on taxes ensued. There
was a request to have Marilyn Beard, Director of the City Finance Dept.,
give a presentation on City taxes and budget.
Anyone who is interested in more
information on the traffic calming circles, including the gauges of
traffic volume that led to the decision to put them in place, should
contact Elisa at elisa@norkirk.org.
